In my case, this turned out to be five dippings. I didn’t wait long between each layer (the varnish dried quite quickly), while I dipped the last thread, the first one was already quite dry. But with the other end of the thread, I already did all the "procedures" only the next day.

All we need is
wire, pencil and nail polish.
First, for the sample, I applied all the varnish that I had on the film
and choose the one you like.

I want to offer you another version of MK stamens from my childhood. I used to work with fabric flowers and at that time, we made stamens from semolina with dyed gouache.

No. 1 For this we need semolina, gouache, wire or prepared threads for stamens, floor tape or corrugated paper (which I used at that time).
№2 To begin with, we will paint the semolina itself. To do this, simply add gouache in small portions to a plate with semolina.
No. 3 And carefully grind with a spoon. After not long rubbing with a spoon, I did everything with my hands, I just rubbed it with my fingers (it’s more convenient for me)
No. 4 Well, our mixture is ready.

No. 1 Since I sometimes make soap, I have such a pigment, I added it for shine.
No. 2 As a result, I got golden pollen.
No. 3 You can, of course, dye with food or synthetic dyes.
No. 4 Here I also could not resist and added gold pigment to the red semolina.

No. 2 Now we put dots from the inside out and decide how many cm our square will be. I have a photo of 10x15 cm, and the squares themselves are 1.5x1.5 cm each. (Do not forget when you dot from the inside that the photo turns over and the left side becomes right, and the right side becomes left.)
№3 Now we begin to mark the next squares from the first. I had a few mm left along the edge of the photo, I cut them off immediately. Now let's number so as not to confuse the sequence ...

No. 2 Now we cut the paper into strips, my strip width is a little more than 1 cm. After we process the edges, you can then also shade them with some kind of color or leave them white.
No. 3 Here are our stripes and ready. Now each mode is still, I cut 2.5 cm
No. 4 After each small strip, fold in half and fix with a stapler.

And now we turn on the fantasy again and decide how we will apply them. You can take a photo in a circle, in a square, an oval ... You can also make just an empty circle, and in it either an inscription or decoration, or you can just leave it like that.

Dilute the glue according to the instructions. By the way, the glue cost 56 rubles. in a hardware store. One divorced cap (from Fruto Nanny) was enough for 40 chips and this is about 1/10 of the glue package. Those. this method is very cheap.

I apply glue with a wooden stick and distribute it over the entire surface of the mug (it's easy).

You need to apply the glue quickly enough, as it thickens within about 30 minutes.

Take white cardboard / paper as a basis. I have brown cardboard, it is slightly see-through and adds a brown tint to the image

Do not touch the chips until the glue is completely cured (24 hours), otherwise fingerprints will spoil the glossy surface

Stir the glue calmly, not quickly, in a circle so that there are no bubbles. If you stir quickly, as when whipping cream, there will be air bubbles that can then ruin the chips.

Make sure that the surface is horizontal, otherwise the glue will be distributed unevenly.

When the first layer is dry

Be sure to use coasters made of plasticine (or some other)! I put a few chips directly on the board for testing, firstly it was not convenient to cover them with glue / varnish (they fidgeted), and secondly, the glue from them tears (flowed) onto the board. And plasticine is more convenient than solid coasters, since in the process of spreading with glue, by pressing on the edge of the chip with a stick, you can change the slope of the chip making it more horizontal.

The photo paper is strong, so I did not make additional substrates, but immediately applied glue.

And below are chips from scrap paper decorated with stamps (I pasted it on watercolor paper for density). The red arrow points to the damaged chip, I touched it with my finger until the glue dried out and the shine was gone.

I used this glue. It is two-component: the resin is almost transparent, the thickener is yellowish. It is diluted in a ratio of 1/10, that is, 10 parts of a transparent resin, 1 part of a yellow hardener. And as a result, the glue is a little yellowish, but not much.

Comparison of original images and finished chips:

Since the glue adds a hazy yellow tint, a perfectly white chip cannot be obtained in this way. But the color doesn't change much. Below are the original circles (I still have them) and chips. The difference in color is visible, but the chips are still very beautiful :)

The background of the watch was light (NOT white) and they generally remained light.

Cover hangers - they are added to covers made of leatherette to give chic and elegance.

Lace - will give the work lightness, elegance and volume. Lace is cotton and synthetic. In the Shabby Chic style, lace is one of the main elements of decor, and when creating a mix of media works, lace is often glued for texture.
